Here is my SAD SAD story.
Let's begin with
Brian: "What do you want for Christmas?"
Me: "A trip to LA with the girls for Lily's bachlorette. I want to pretend I am single and see lots of naked boys. Will you buy me a ticket?"
Brian: "Sure! I love you. You are my pretty pretty princess and I can do no better. You are perfect!" ---ok, that part was in my head, but let's continue.
So Brian bought a ticket and everything was fine........right? WRONG!
So yesterday I got to the airport, all packed and ready to go. I went up to the self serve print out your own ticket machine and it kept saying "Error, we cannot process at this time" So I thought to myself, "Hmmm, it's probably just my credit card, I have been using it a lot, maybe the magnetic strip is damaged" So I went up to the counter and said "I am sorry, I seem to be having a problem printing out my ticket. Here is my Itenerary (Brian printed it for me last night). So the lady checks the computer and says "Well, I see your flight and I don't understand why I can't pull you up.......hmmm.........more typing.........hmmm......more typing.............hmmmm..... Then I tried to be helpful by saying "well, I didn't buy the ticket. My fiance did and maybe it's under his name?" The lady looked at me like I was stupid and said "no that shoudldn't matter." Then I said, "well, I did buy it a while back, maybe they sold my ticket to someone else?" Then the lady said "Oh, sweetie your flight is not until next weekend! It's for March 9-11!! Me: "WHAT?!?! NO WAY, ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Low and behold she showed me my printed itenerary that Brian printed out last night. MARCH 9 depart 8:30 am. Arriving 10 am. DAMN!
Me: (Sobbing, snot running, tears streaming down my face--not a pretty picture) "I really need to go to LA. Is there anything you can do??? Can I fly standby???
Lady: "Let me see what I can do......typing......typing.......more typing.........more typing.........more typing.......more typing......."LA is completely sold out. You can get on the San Diego flight and then take a shuttle to LA. The ticket is 500 dollars plus 100 charge for the day of purchase. If you buy a ticket today, you can fly standby to LA but I don't think you will get on because it is completely booked. So your best bet is fly to San Diego and then take a shuttle to LA."
Apparently, in order to fly standby you have to have a ticket the day of, that would mean I would have to buy a ticket anyways and fly standby. Needless to say, I did not go. 600 dollars for a ticket???
Maybe that's why I can't sleep tonight. My mind is working on LA's time. Right now it would be 3:44 am, and we are prob. just now getting to bed. |
